The First Carnival Ride

Image
Ah, the longing for the bright lights, loud noises and thrilling rides... And then, the ride, while thoroughly enjoyable, is over in an instant...

Before and After 2: The Allotment

Image
Just about every weekend we're in London, the three of us spend some time at our "garden away from home"- our shared allotment. Today was no different. On our way: Contemplating the next plant: Relaxing in the warm sun after the work is done:

Before and After

See the big truck coming down the street... ...with the flashing lights... ...and friendly guys... And then leaving... Every Friday morning...

Little Next Door Neighbors Isabella's Birthday

We celebrated with our next door neighbors tonight- a bit of champagne for Isabella's first birthday. Here's a great picture of Louise, David and Isabella. Both Isabella's enjoyed the champagne.

Playing in the Dirt

Lucy, Simon and sleep

Image
We spent the rest of the weekend north of Ashridge in the Fens. We stayed with friends- Lucy and Simon. Lucy is seven months pregnant with their first, so it was a bit of an education session for them. C had much energy Sunday morning, and then collapsed asleep in the garden in the sun at 11am. Simon and I both ran for our cameras. Taken (very quickly) with my Sony Ericsson 850i mobile phone.

C at Ashridge

I had a Board dinner at Ashridge on Friday night. Bella and C drove up on Saturday and met me after our morning meeting. C had lunch on the lawn, and we ran in the sun around the grounds. Earlier, Bells taught him how to roll down small hills. Priceless.

Just a good picture

Down at the pub

We spent a sunny Saturday out in the country- the South Downs (Surrey) and the town of Shere. After a walk of a fitting distance, we found ourselves in Shere. Dad and I had a well-deserved half pint, while the halfpint sat on our laps watching horses go by.

Good Friday

C's friend Rupert stopped over for scones this morning. As he and his escorts were leaving, I snapped this of Grandma and C on the wall.

St James Park

I met Bella, C and my parents after work on Friday for a Kid Handoff- they went to the theatre, and C & I played in the park before going home.

A (very) Short Vacation

Bells and I got away for 36 hours and left C with my parents. Here is where we went: Here's what we found upon return: And here's what we did after unpacking:
