The Friday morning ritual

Image
As we've discussed in previous posts here and here , Friday is Garbage Truck Day around Pirbright Road. Today was no different. C stands on the brick wall, leaning against the iron railing. The truck, with bright orange flashing lights, rumbles towards our house. Burly guys in dirty clothes and yellow safety jackets move back and forth across the sidewalk, shuffling bags. They always stop to chat and wave from the truck. C gets to see them throw these black bags into the gaping back of the big green truck. This morning, C brought his (current) favourtie teddy bear down for the show. I usually just stand behind him and finish my tea.

Names for duo

The discussion over dinner tonight was on potential names for number two- something starting with D. Maybe Daphne. The front runner right now is Dorthy, or maybe Dorthea.

Jumping on the couch

Just jumping on the couch when I got home from work...

Red-handed and chocolate-faced

C had a bit of vanilla ice cream, pears and chocolate for pudding course this evening. And the results are: Extra bonus: C has taken to doing raspberries on Bells stomach to wake up the baby. It works.

India redux

Since I can appreciate that most readers of this blog don't actually read the comments posted here, I felt the need to reiterate a recent one: Dom Pannell said... Sitting as I am in a hotel room in Mumbai, your post caused me to grin particularly widely! 8-) 1:06 PM A good UK friend of mine happened to see this post while he was on a business trip to Old Bombay and came up with the above thought...

Last Saturday

Snapped this in front of the house last weekend.

Closer to nature

We all went for a stroll at Painshill Park this morning. It's a old estate with grottoes, lakes, and fallen-down ruins. As we perched C for a picture, a European Robin (not an American one ) landed right behind him- not a foot from his face. That's as close as he's ever been to a bird and found it a bit intimidating.

The next stage for the next Park

Bells and I went for the 20 week scan of number two this morning. Fortunately, everything looked in order. The due date is the 22nd of June. On the question of boy or girl, the doctor, a very polite Indian lady, said- “Oh Mrs. Park I don’t see any dangling bits.” Of course, it's not 100%, but it does tilt the odds.

The Three Musketeers

Image
I met Bells at Edward & Katrina's for an after work martini yesterday. Matt and Holly were there as well. This has become a bit of a regular occurrence. And it's good because the kids get to make havoc while the parents look on through their drinks. This is Elise, Rupert and C.
