Park, Park, Park & Park

Bella and I swapped the kids midday today in Central London. She went off to a meeting and we went for lunch in the park.

Ah, the South of France: Sunny, warm, great food & drink... especially when it is pouring rain back in England. We spent the Bank Holiday weekend outside Beziers , France.   Jane and Merv were married in New Zealand last year, but had a wonderful reception at their home in France this past weekend.  We took full advantage of the opportunity and enjoyed the French countryside. We stayed along the Canal du Midi, and found a fantastic patisserie.  And we all slept for 10 hours a night. Here is all of us down there  a few summers ago . In our finery for the party: And with them for lunch a few days later: And, in between, we spent a day in Montpelier.  At a French indoor pool.  Where, by law, you need to wear a speedo and a swimming cap.  Which we needed to buy from a French vending machine.   I modelled them for Jane & Merv the next day. 

Friday night is now Cricket night again.  Into their whites, over to the Bank of England Club 15 minutes away, and 2 hours of play as the sun sets (see the video in the Spring Shorts 18may14).  It's a great way to spend some time.  Taro is joining C this season. And then on Saturday, we had a BBQ.  Here's D munching a good old SMORE.

We measured the kids up last week- here's the stats: C is 53 1/2 inches tall and weighs 59 pounds. D is 43 1/2 inches tall and weighs 37 pounds. Here's an earlier measurement . Also- C is away right now on something called PGL.  Essentially, it is a school field trip where they stay overnight, do fun activities, and gain experience being away from family.  He's just down in East Sussex (about 30 miles), but it feels like much longer.  D has been getting all of the attention since Monday, and C is back on Thursday.

The kids excitedly came home from Wimbledon Common with a jar of tadpoles.  Big plans were discussed as to how to feed and maintain them untill we had frogs as pets. Alas, within 24 hours, they had found their new habitat not to their satisfaction...

The start of the new season is tonight- Friday evenings at the Bank of England club. And Taroh is joining C this summer.
