On our way back, sans kids, Bells and I stopped to see friends in Crevinia, Italy. This is a ski resort town well up a valley. They took us on a 6 mile walk, 700 meters up, to 2800 meters high... for lunch.

Back to Venice!
We ventured into Venice today. It was a 2 hour trip from our place outside Trieste, but it was very worth it. We met my best friend and his wife from University 39 (!) years ago. Iona had an opportunity to see Venice and all of its offerings. And we got to got back to the same restaurant we went to 10 years ago with Mom and Dad.

The Strujan Peninsula
C found us a secluded beach out on a peninsula, rocky but picturesque. Spent the afternoon going between sun, water, food and towels.
Slivovitz after dinner
We found a local place for dinner up the hill from Gavorica, a bit of a hike. But it was worth it. We ended the meal with a bit of local plumb brandy.
Wild Swimming in Rural Italy
On our trip from the Agri-tourismo outside Basanno de Grappa, we stopped along a river- for a swim and lunch.
Lake Konstance- Switzerland
Our pre-breakfast endeavour was a swim in the Lake. Then coffees. Then a 6 hour drive through Austria, into Italy.
D Leaves for Aus!
As i write this, D is just about to land in Singapore- a 13 hour flight from London. And then gets on another 7 hour flight to Brisbane. Eventually, she'll get to Townsville, Queensland to work in a boarding school for a year. It's sad for us; very proud of her.
