V for Victory

Our own little Winston Churchill...

Turning Japanese

Image
C hasn't had his fingernails trimmed for the last week or two, and so has scratched his face slightly while he sleeps. Our solution is socks on the hands. Which has resulted in us greeting him in the morning: "Ah, good morning, Mr. Sokisan- most honorable Japanese emperor." Followed by a very deep bow towards his cot. Again, we get grins. (Sokisan= socks is on...)

The Farm Song

A few days a week, I'll run home from work. C and I then take his evening bath together (no picture for that). Well, tonight we invented a song while we splashed- The Farm Song. It goes something like this (to a generic, but recognizable, classical music melody): "Moo, moo. Moo, moo. Moo, moo. Baa, baa. Moo, moo. Oink, oink. Whinny, whinny. Cluck, cluck, cluck. Moo." We got great grins.

President vs Prime Minister

It is now official and documented. C has both a UK and US passport. The US one arrived yesterday on the 300th Birthday of Ben Franklin- a truly cosmopolitan statesman. The UK one arrived a few weeks back. So, again we can go back to the debate about C's eligibility to run for President and/or the odds of him being UK Prime Minister. Or, if he chooses, dustman (UK) vs garbageman (US). In both pictures, he's smiling though.

Following the growth curve (See Proportion 1, 2, 3, 4 ), here is the next installment. Bella's hand this time with C.

Back on Form

Image
After 48 hours of flu/fever, the Park Household is now almost back on form (as the picture shows). C started with the flu and A ended with the fever. Mummy got both in between.

And then soon after the bath, happy as a clam...

Water baby

Image
Here's C bobbing around in his bath with Bella. Half the week, he bathes in his little yellow bath (thank you Grandma Park), the other half of the week, he goes for a swim in the big bath with Dad. He loves his bath, despite this picture!

Grinning at Granny

Image
Here's C having a good old laugh with Granny Wigan. This was actually his first laugh ever - and he did it to 'Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross' ...

Back to Day 2

Image
I managed to get all of my pictures off my mobile phone today. And in the collection of wine bottles, books and pub shots this one turned up. Moving on from Day One , this is from Day Two. We nipped across the street to Carluccios for dinner with C- 36 hours old. The nurses told us not to, but we evaded them. I took this with my mobile just before we ate. He slept through.

Basque visitors

Image
Our friends Idoia, Inigo and Laia from San Sebastian (Donostia to those in the know) in the Basque Country came to see us yesterday. Laia is kindly lending us her Baby bjorn carrier, which we use daily. Here are Idoia, Laia, Bella and C trying to explain how a dummy works.

The NCT Group

We had a bit of a reunion lunch today- the couples from the Ante-Natal Classes. Andy (another Yank) and Clare MacIntosh hosted all of us, with a fantastic spread of food. Here's Andy and Phoebe together with A and C.

Zzzzz

Image
Here's C catching a few Zeds during his midday nap yesterday. He woke up at 5 am this morning though ...

Simple Math

Image
Today in the post arrived a gift. A gift for C from my Godfather- my Dad's best mate from his high school days in Brighton, Michigan. He used to be a banker (as well as Mayor of Brighton). So, we opened it up, and put it right to use after showing C. If you look really closely, you can see the first pound coin in there. So, a pound a day, times 18 years, plus interest, multiplied by the exchange rate...
