Nate and Chartwell

Image
We took Uncle Nate out to Kent today- to Winston Churchills' home . Beautiful views over the Kentish and Sussex country-side. And Nate enjoyed the house- just his type of fit. We were back in time to make it out to Hammersmith to meet Jack for a pint or two though at The Dove.

3 weeks and counting

Here's an update to Dorothy's hand picture series: The original is here .

A usual Friday morning

Image
C always wakes up on Fridays ready to see the dustmen and garbage truck. We've developed a really good relationship with these guys. This is Les- a really friendly guy who makes an effort to chat with C every Friday. And here is the backstory .

Uncle Nate, Uncle Nate!

Image
My brother Nate arrived from Vienna on Thursday. He's been studying for the last year around Europe, earning his Masters in International Relations. Now done and looking for work. C was excited to see him. As excited as he was here .

Dorothy is royalty

Image
We registered D's birth today. Since she was born at Kingston Hospital, D needs to be registered at Kingston Town Hall. Which is in the Royal Borough of Kingston-Upon-Thames . It was just as glamorous as C's registration in Chelsea way back when. On the official record, she now has two middle names- Ann is the second (from my Mother).

The Vicar Position

We’ve developed the feeding routine for Dorothy now. Of course, Bells does most of it, but I do a bottle feed in the middle of the night- usually 3-4 am. D will sit on my lap and drink about 3-4 oz. As she works her way through it, her hands move slowly from down at her sides to fingers interlocked across her chest- like a Vicar praying. Usually by then our respective sets of eyes are starting to close also.

Dorothy's head wetting

Image
We all gathered at my old local on Saturday to wet Dorothy's head- a British tradition of the new father and his mates getting together to celebrate the birth with a few pints. The Atlas has seen other visits from us over the years , including my stag night before the wedding. C's head wetting was at Troubs here with some of the same mis-fits.

Sheringdale School Fete

Image
C and I ventured across the street Saturday to the local primary school summer fete. It's a bit of a fund raiser slash barbecue . Sheringdale is where he will go in a year or two. C ate nearly this entire burger.

As C would say, "Dorfies eyes are so small".

Grandpa's first visit

Bella's Dad Michael came around on Tuesday to meet the newest member of The Family. She was reasonably well behaved.
