The Argentinian Comes to Dinner

Alejandro, a great friend and classmate from the MBA, found himself in London this week.  Although he's Argentinian by birth, he's living in Madrid.  So we had dinner together last night at our house. We made an occasion of it- drinks with the kids, a few bottles of Argentinian wine and I cooked a sort-of paella.  And he read stories to the kids at bedtime.  I did sit on the sidelines a few times while the Spanish speakers in the household got suitably animated.

Sundays at Salt & Pepper

The usual Sunday Routine: Breakfast all together Off to Church Meet Steph, Gwennie and Colin Go to Salt & Pepper for lunch Talk and read papers while the kids run around out front of the cafe. This is a place where we can all walk in, take the one big table, and just let John feed us whatever he's got on the go. Races outside S&P, and visitors inside.

In Loco Parentis

Grandma and Grand-dad are graciously looking after C and D this weekend while B and I get away. We're down in Sussex at the Goodwood . This is a view from atop a ridge, over looking East Dean. We had just finished a great pub lunch there and were just starting our 4 mile walk back to the hotel.
