Dad is a dual. A dual citizen and passport holder, that is.

D's Second Birthday

Image
Here she is discovering her most important present, with gifts scattered around her. Every little girl has to have a talking doll, complete with bottle to feed her, right? Here's No. 1

The Champernowne and Jone Arrivals!

Image
There will be alot of blog-worthy activity this week, so to keep on top of it, here we go: We had visitors over the weekend- some short-term, others long term. Jackie and Allison Champernowne stayed with us for a few nights while they had tickets to Wimbledon tennis. Allison is next to Bells in the picture (and just finshed her first year at Durham) and Jackie is on the other end. Jone arrived on Saturday afternoon. She's up from the Basque Region of Spain, and staying with us for the next 3 weeks (All is safe Idoia!). Bells helped teach Sunday School today, hence the "crown" on D's head.

Grandpa's 75th Birthday

Image
Bella's Dad Michael came over this evening to celebrate his birthday with C and D (it actually isn't until the 30th so you still have time to get cards in the post). I took some good video which will show up here later, but for now a few pictures. You can see us eating cake off the kids plates! And here is D after bathtime!

Great Loo Views

Image
C has a infrequent habit of finding good vista's to relieve himself. Here he is at the top of Sugarloaf Mountain back in April of 2009. And here he is in Somerset, looking out across the Bristol Channel to Wales.

New Somerset

Image
A church garden party- hog roast, brass band, charity book sale, etc. Fantastic. A drive up the coast and into the hills, where the mist rolled over the tops. D figuring out how to walk across the rope bridge at the playground down the street for the first time.

Old Somerset

Image
Many times when you go for a holiday around England, you see Old Things. Here's a list from our trip: Cleeve Abbey c. 1300 Lynmouth Cliff Railway c. 1885 Dunster Castle c. 1066 The West Somerset Steam Railway c. 1874 Vicar's Close in Wells (the oldest inhabited street in Europe) c. 1300's And then lastly, a random apple farm outside the Abbey, which made great food and even better cider. Vintage 2010.

The Somerset Beach

Image
We ventured far west of London to Dunster , on the Northern Somerset coast. The weather was really sunny, and in the low 70's. Which meant lots of outdoor activities, like C's favorite, The Beach. We made a big X in the sand out of rocks that marked where pirate treasure was buried! NB: For the first time, C helped write this post. NB: All of the individual pictures in the collage can be found seperately in the album links to the right.

Vacation

We've been on Holiday, as they say in the UK. Away in Somerset (pronounced Zumerzet) for 4 days. Lots was done, and many pictures taken. Still sorting through them for good blog posts over the next few days. Watch this space.
