Talkie

In the last few days, we've noticed a real rush of words. He's gone from 'duck' and 'daddy' to 'hot', 'bye bye' and 'truck'. His diction is not great - in fact, 'duck' and 'truck' sound so similar, you can only tell the difference because he's pointing at the large rubbish trucks that visit us on a Friday. Anyway, here he is eating a pear ...

Leftovers from Christmas Dinner

Image
Here is C back in Chicago at Christmas time.

Pals

Image
C had a very social weekend. Two lunch parties, a birthday party and tea time with close relatives. Here are Rupert and Pen. Both are good mates. Rup is about the same age; Pen is a bit older- it was her second birthday.

Growth

The last time we measured C, he was this big. Now, he is 23 pounds (almost two stone in UK money), and 2 feet, 8 inches tall. And he eats like a horse!

Off to the Park

Image
Before coming back to the UK, Grandma and Grand-Dad babysat C for a few days while Bella and I got away to a B&B in Michigan. It was the first time we've left C for an extended period of time, and G & G had a ball. Here's Grandma chasing C on the way to the park. Apparently, they were having too much fun to take many good pictures.

Uncle Bruce

Image
My Mom's brother Bruce was able to make it over just after Christmas for a day. C and Bruce really hit it off, with lots of laughter.

Sharp but Sloppy

Image
While home, Grad-Dad and I took C to the barber. This guy used to cut my hair, starting when I was about 7, so it seemed appropriate for his first ever haircut. The good haircut added about a year to C's appearance. Afterwards, C celebrated the milestone with a bowl of tomato, sardine and couscous mush.

Fat Lip

Image
C then proceeded to take a bit of a spill running around outside, giving himself a good fat lip. Lots of tears, some blood. Not entirely sure he'll appreciate this picture when he's older. This is also the last picture BEFORE his first ever proper haircut.

Decorating the Tree

Image
We arrived on the 21st of December- enough time for C to help Grand-Dad decorate the tree.

Christmas Updates

Well, we're back from our Christmas in the United States, and what follows are some of the better memories.
