A Sunday Afternoon

Image
This was from last weekend, but illustrated the day pretty well. It was a rainy few days. So, Bells curled up on the sofa reading the newspaper, and C read his books.

American Baseball

Image
We're trying to play fair here in the UK, so C gets a dose of American baseball headgear to wear, in between the Ashes (cricket), World Cup (rugby) and Beckham news. One of the comments I hear often from travellers is that everything is bigger in the US. Here C is showing off his biggest ever, American Major League snot nose. And his Chicago Cubs hat.

Cats and rocks

C feels that it is proper behaviour to feed the local cats a diet of rocks.

Blues

C is modelling new clothes, thanks to a very generous new friend of Bella's. Both the pj's and the overalls (dungarees) came from Turquaz We met Bumble, Turquaz's owner, on the playground one day while she was out with her daughter, Anna. It's a small world - it turned out she was brought up within a few miles of Bella in Essex.

Hand in Hand

After going back to January 2007, And even farther back, to November 2005 (even better), We have an update on growth: C now weighs 28 lbs, is 83 cm tall, and here's his hand:

Mummy...

Image
...please don't bother me; can't you see I'm on the phone... This is in honour of C chucking Bella's phone into the bath last Friday.

Flying

We flew around the back yard in the sun this morning...

The Eurovision Song Contest

Image
We bargained with C this afternoon over this evenings' Eurovision Song Contest on tv. To the left is his reaction when we gave in. He was very keen to stay up past his bedtime to see the Ukrainian and Hungarian entries. He had heard rumors that the UK entry was a bit "camp", and therefore wanted to see the post-ironic French act as well. Disappointment really set in when he understood that the Americans hadn't even entered. Without telling Mum or I, he had put down his allowance at Ladbrokes betting shop on Romania to win. As happens, he fell asleep during the show and missed the Finale in Helsinki. And missed the winner: Serbia (voted maximum points by Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Bosnia).

Boys and their toys

Image
We spent the weekend with Lisa, Nigel and their three kids. Jacob, the middle one, has several toy cars. So when we got back, C went straight for his toy truck.
