Dorothy's first words!

Grand-dad and I were on our way out to our annual Derby pilgrimage, when we were shocked by a valediction from the smallest member of the family.

"Bye-bye" and a wave.

She followed it up later in the day with a dismissal of her water cup.

Next up: a Shakespearean sonnet or dirty limerick.

She arrives!

Dorothy Wijnanda Park has finally arrived. A healthy, petite (6lb, 7 oz) baby was born at 1:18 pm today, 28th of June. Baby and mother are both recovering from the delivery at Kingston Hospital in fine form. The first Park female on this branch of the family in 5 generations gets her name from my grandmother (Dorothy M. Baetcke Park) and a relative on Bella's side (Isabella Dorothea Akers). And also inherits Bella's middle name. Any advice on coping with daughters is heartily welcomed by the father.

D's 8th Birthday

Here she is before school, ready with her birthday badge. We all went out for a celebratory dinner- Indian food.  And we git the entire resturant to sing Happy Birthday to her.
