Pooh Bridge with John and Sheila

We ventured down to deepest East Sussex last weekend for lunch with John and Sheila Van Maurik- relatives from Bells' side.

After a lovely meal, we all put our wellies on and tromped through the light rain to Pooh Bridge. A. A. Milne, the author of Winnie the Pooh, used to live in nearby Hartfield.

She arrives!

Dorothy Wijnanda Park has finally arrived. A healthy, petite (6lb, 7 oz) baby was born at 1:18 pm today, 28th of June. Baby and mother are both recovering from the delivery at Kingston Hospital in fine form. The first Park female on this branch of the family in 5 generations gets her name from my grandmother (Dorothy M. Baetcke Park) and a relative on Bella's side (Isabella Dorothea Akers). And also inherits Bella's middle name. Any advice on coping with daughters is heartily welcomed by the father.

D's 8th Birthday

Here she is before school, ready with her birthday badge. We all went out for a celebratory dinner- Indian food.  And we git the entire resturant to sing Happy Birthday to her.
