Jane and Merv: Dinner, Sleep and Kids


Bella's long-standing friend Jane and her partner Merv have just moved to France, running a B&B and outdoor touring outfit. They came through London last night, and we had an impromptu dinner party. Famous Nettie and Bella's Dad joined in the festivities.

Jane and Merv came down from the loft this morning to the loud sounds of kids playing- although they graciously denied that the kids woke them up.

In Jane's hand is the key to their French house- a huge skeleton key from the 1910's!

She arrives!

Dorothy Wijnanda Park has finally arrived. A healthy, petite (6lb, 7 oz) baby was born at 1:18 pm today, 28th of June. Baby and mother are both recovering from the delivery at Kingston Hospital in fine form. The first Park female on this branch of the family in 5 generations gets her name from my grandmother (Dorothy M. Baetcke Park) and a relative on Bella's side (Isabella Dorothea Akers). And also inherits Bella's middle name. Any advice on coping with daughters is heartily welcomed by the father.

D's 8th Birthday

Here she is before school, ready with her birthday badge. We all went out for a celebratory dinner- Indian food.  And we git the entire resturant to sing Happy Birthday to her.
