Oinks in New Buffalo

We're now in the US and staying at a (very generous) friends cottage in Michigan.
An aspect of the US is the large portions of food. Even for what the English would call the pudding course. Couple that with the car aspect and we found ourselves at essentially a drive-in ice cream parlour.
Oinks in New Buffalo must be famous in the region. It has all kinds of memorabilia covering the inside of the shop.
And so many flavours that its tough to choose.
C is devouring Superman flavour (?) in a chocolate dipped cone! In the foreground is my scoop in a cookie bowl!

Hi, Adam.....I knew you were coming to this area and so checked out your blog (Bob had signed me up some time ago). Oinks is a favorite of ours. We go there every time we are in NB. We stay there a couple of times a year in the Harbour Grand Hotel. Where are you staying? Check out Stray Dog. It recently burned and they redid it all. We haven't seen it since it's finished. Bob and I have spent many hours there catching the Cubs on TV as our room doesn't pick up Comcast. Have a great vacation. Janet Barnett

She arrives!

Dorothy Wijnanda Park has finally arrived. A healthy, petite (6lb, 7 oz) baby was born at 1:18 pm today, 28th of June. Baby and mother are both recovering from the delivery at Kingston Hospital in fine form. The first Park female on this branch of the family in 5 generations gets her name from my grandmother (Dorothy M. Baetcke Park) and a relative on Bella's side (Isabella Dorothea Akers). And also inherits Bella's middle name. Any advice on coping with daughters is heartily welcomed by the father.
