On the subject of persistence...

C won an award at school this week. And it sounds like it wasn't one of those "participation for everyone" awards.

Over the last few months, we've spent our Wednesday mornings shuffling C out of bed, shoving a bit of food down his throat and getting him to school for 8am Running Club.

He's been less than enthusiastic some mornings.

It turns out he's done well running. And hasn't complained to the coach.

Generally showing a good attitude.

So on Thursday, the school recognised that effort.

She arrives!

Dorothy Wijnanda Park has finally arrived. A healthy, petite (6lb, 7 oz) baby was born at 1:18 pm today, 28th of June. Baby and mother are both recovering from the delivery at Kingston Hospital in fine form. The first Park female on this branch of the family in 5 generations gets her name from my grandmother (Dorothy M. Baetcke Park) and a relative on Bella's side (Isabella Dorothea Akers). And also inherits Bella's middle name. Any advice on coping with daughters is heartily welcomed by the father.

Here she is before school, ready with her birthday badge. We all went out for a celebratory dinner- Indian food.  And we git the entire resturant to sing Happy Birthday to her.
