Prep for C's Birthday


C's 5th birthday was on Saturday. It was a pirate theme, with 30+ kids! And it was a success, even though the Birthday Boy dressed up as Spiderman at the last minute and got a bloody nose halfway through the activities.

Bells did lots of games, and we had Nate, Nettie and Bobbie help out.

I did the cake, as usual. Lemon inside, vanilla frosting and coconut on top. There was even mashed, bloody pirate bones inside!

She arrives!

Dorothy Wijnanda Park has finally arrived. A healthy, petite (6lb, 7 oz) baby was born at 1:18 pm today, 28th of June. Baby and mother are both recovering from the delivery at Kingston Hospital in fine form. The first Park female on this branch of the family in 5 generations gets her name from my grandmother (Dorothy M. Baetcke Park) and a relative on Bella's side (Isabella Dorothea Akers). And also inherits Bella's middle name. Any advice on coping with daughters is heartily welcomed by the father.

D's 8th Birthday

Here she is before school, ready with her birthday badge. We all went out for a celebratory dinner- Indian food.  And we git the entire resturant to sing Happy Birthday to her.
